Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has directed the chief secretaries for taking all possible measures to stabilize sugar prices across the country. He issued the directives while chairing the meeting of the Sugar Advisory Board held here on Tuesday to review the availability of sugar stocks and price trends. Rana Tanveer Hussain said that ex-mills prices of sugar have remained stable in recent months. Provinces should strictly monitor retail sugar prices, as maintaining sugar prices was the primary responsibility of the government, he added. The Minister Industries and Production warned that increase in sugar prices will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
