Heavy rains have been reported in Lahore and various other regions of the country, prompting the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to issue an emergency alert for the next three days. The provincial capital Lahore experienced heavy downpours, turning the city into a waterlogged area. Heavy rainfall has also been reported in Kasur, Gujranwala, Attock, Taxila, and other cities of Punjab province. In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, heavy rains were observed, while in Karachi, light showers have made the weather pleasant.
The NDMA has issued an emergency alert for the next three days due to the expected rainfall. The Director General of the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Irfan Ali Kathia, has instructed all Deputy Commissioners in the province to remain alert. The DG of PDMA stated that all relevant departments should remain vigilant to handle any emergency situations. The Provincial Control Room and all District Emergency Operation Centers across the districts have also been put on alert.
