Rain, Snowfall expected across countryBreaking

February 11, 2025

A new weather system has entered Punjab, bringing with it the possibility of rain in many parts of the country, including Islamabad, with snowfall expected in mountainous regions.  As we approach the end of the second week of February, temperatures are likely to drop further, making the weather in Punjab colder once again. According to reports from the Meteorological Department, the cloud-bearing system has moved into most districts of Punjab, creating favorable conditions for rainfall in Islamabad as well.

Over the next 24 hours, the weather in many parts of Punjab is expected to remain cold and dry, with cloudy skies in areas surrounding Lahore and Sialkot. Light rain, drizzle, and gusty winds are also expected in these regions. In addition to Punjab, light rain and snowfall are forecasted in northwest Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. The latter region is currently experiencing some of the coldest temperatures in the country, with the lowest temperature recorded at Leh at minus 12°C, followed by Skardu, Astore, and Gopis at minus 6°C, and Kalam at minus 5°C.

The popular tourist destinations of Murree and Galiyat, along with most parts of Sindh, are likely to experience dry and cold weather. The cold weather is expected to continue over the coming days, with the Meteorological Department urging residents to prepare for cooler temperatures and potential disruptions due to rain and snow in affected regions.
