The Home Department of Punjab has instigated a significant change in the handling of cases related to the May 9 tragedy, including the Askari Tower attack, within the Anti-Terrorism Court. Thirteen special prosecutors have been replaced in these crucial cases. In a move to bolster legal representation, the Home Department issued a notification announcing the appointment of new special prosecutors. Advocate Chaudhry Armaghan Ahmad Pasha, Asif Javed Qureshi, Rao Abdul Jabbar, Advocate Arif Awan, Ilyas Habib, Malik Sarood, Rana Ashfaq, Rana Manzoor, Advocate Rana Naveed Ashiq, Rana Nauman, Shahid Mehmood Minhas, and Shahid Shaukat are among the newly appointed prosecutors entrusted with pursuing the May 9 tragedy cases on behalf of the government. This reshuffle underscores the government's commitment to ensuring thorough and effective prosecution in cases of terrorism and violence, signaling a renewed focus on justice and accountability.
