The Punjab government has decided to introduce "Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services" to enhance healthcare delivery across the province. This initiative aims to fulfill 19 key healthcare tasks, ensuring a structured approach to health-related matters. Under this program, 20,000 additional health inspectors will be hired through outsourcing, and the lady health workers program will be integrated into it.
As a result, 39,000 lady health workers will become part of the Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services Force. With a total workforce exceeding 60,000, the program will oversee responsibilities like polio and other vaccinations while also maintaining an authentic patient record system. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has requested a comprehensive plan for the initiative and ordered immediate measures to make the Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services fully operational.
