In order to ensure uniform development and discipline in the province, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday approved one Punjab, one standard, one design policy. The approval was given at a special meeting, chaired by the Punjab chief minister in Lahore. She was given a detailed briefing on infrastructure standardization.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Maryam said that discipline was the essence of development. She added that now from Lahore to Rajanpur, every street, every road and every highway in the province would give the same look.“Similar infrastructure in all cities will add to the beauty of the province,” she noted. Under the plan, all structures, streets and roads would be developed according to a set pattern.

Buildings, with different designs, will not be scattered here there, but they will have the same design. Streets, roads, schools, hospitals, greenbelts, footpaths and signboards will also look akin to each other. The meeting also mulled setting up an independent Authority for completely transforming the infrastructure of Punjab through standardization and urban design.
