Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday visited the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and reviewed the facilities being provided to patients at the hospital. The chief minister went round different wards of the hospital, inquired after the patients and asked them whether they were satisfied with the attitude of the hospital staff and facilities being provided to them, particularly primary angiography. The patients as well as their attendants told CM Naqvi that they were satisfied. He directed doctors and nurses to look after the patients, saying The Almighty Allah rewarded those serving ailing humanity not only in this world but also in the life hereafter.
He also directed the staff to shift the patients whose condition had improved to the emergency ward. The chief minister said keeping in view an increase in the number of patients visiting the institute, the Punjab government had decided to increase the number of beds as well. PIC Chief Executive Dr. Ahmad Nauman and MS Dr. Tehseen, on the occasion, briefed him about the facilities available at the hospital.
