Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has formally inaugurated Baitul Maal Portal for awarding scholarships and aid funds to deserving people. Talking on the occasion on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that assistance will be easily available to the deserving and needy through the Baitul-Maal portal. He said there will be transparency in payment to the beneficiaries through the Baitul Maal portal. The purpose of setting up Baitul Mal Portal is authentic database and paperless working, said Mohsen Naqvi. He said that application for aid and scholarships can be made through Baitul Maal portal. One can apply for education scholarships, marriage grant and medical treatment through the Baitul Maal portal, Mohsen Naqvi said. Chief Minister said that special persons and the needy will also be able to apply through the Baitul Maal portal.
Later, Provincial Minister Dr Javed Akram gave briefing to the Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi regarding the Baitul Maal Portal. He said that the system of assistance from Baitul Maal for the treatment of patients in hospitals will also be made online. He briefed that the committee will take action after confirmation from the concerned district on the application of the applicant. Payment will be made by UBL Omni to the applicant as per allocation of available funds, he said in briefing. Provincial Minister Specialized Healthcare and Baitul Maal Dr Javed Akram, Chief Secretary, Secretaries Social Welfare and Treasury, Law, Information, Chairman PITB, Amin Baitul Mal Punjab, DG PITB and related officials participated in the ceremony.
