Islamabad Police on Monday handed over Sanam Javed, a diehard PTI worker presently facing cases in connection with the May 9 vandalism, to Balochistan Police. Sources said Sanam was produced in G-11 district court where the judge granted transit remand of her, handing her over to the Balochistan Police. Following that, she was taken to Balochistan. The PTI worker, who had been acquitted by a district and sessions court in Islamabad on Sunday in the case filed against her for tweeting anti-state content, was rearrested hours after she was released. Confirming the re-arrest on social media, her lawyer Ashfaq stated that Islamabad police had taken ‘Miss Javed into custody’. He emphasized the importance of cooperating with the law-enforcement agencies and said they had handed her over without resistance.
