PTI, military leadership meeting create a wave of unrest in PML-N’s camp: Saif Breaking

January 18, 2025

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Information Advisor, Barrister Saif, has claimed that after the recent meeting between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and military leadership, a wave of unrest has emerged within the camp of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.  He alleges that Sharif has directed his team to sabotage the ongoing negotiations, which could pave the way for political stability in the country.  Saif asserts that elements within the political landscape who do not wish to see stability have begun to actively work against these peace talks.

In a statement, Barrister Saif urged government ministers to uphold their oaths and refrain from politicizing the meeting between PTI and the military.  He emphasized that PTI is committed to the path of dialogue and peace, while accusing an unelected faction of trying to derail the process in order to protect what he termed as their "illegitimate power." Saif's comments come amidst reports suggesting that Nawaz Sharif has instructed his team to undermine the negotiations, possibly due to fears of political shifts that might weaken his position.

In addition to his remarks on the negotiations, Barrister Saif also condemned the recent conviction of PTI founder Imran Khan in the Qadir Trust case.  He called the conviction "regrettable" and described it as part of a broader pattern of judicial delays and injustices. According to Saif, the prolonged postponement of the verdict sealed the fate of justice being denied to Imran Khan, labeling the case as baseless. Saif reaffirmed that PTI would challenge the conviction in the High Court, asserting that such decisions will not deter the party’s resolve.

He further emphasized that Imran Khan remains steadfast, declaring that he will endure his prison sentence for the sake of the people and will never compromise by making a deal. In conclusion, Barrister Saif expressed confidence that the unjust cases against Imran Khan, like others before them, will eventually be overturned, and that PTI's leadership would not be intimidated by such tactics.
