Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar on Tuesday dismissed any divisions within the party by saying “there is no forward bloc in the party.” He said there were no differences among the ranks of the PTI rather it was “difference of opinion”. Speaking to media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad, the PTI chief said the PTI was a democratic party, claiming that leadership and workers of the party were treated equally. “We are receptive to concerns of everyone from leadership to a worker of the party. We don’t endorse stifling the voices of the people,” he reiterated.
Responding to a question regarding former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry’s remarks about the current party leadership, Gohar said the decision of Chaudhry’s return to the PTI’s fold would be taken by incarcerated PTI founder and former premier Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the ATC Islamabad extended the PTI chief’s interim bail in a case pertaining to PTI’s lawyers protest outside the Supreme Court. Justice Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain of the ATC heard the bail plea filed by the PTI chairman. Gohar appeared before court along with his lawyers Amna Ali, Zahid Bashir Dar and Murtaza Turi. Later, the court adjourned the hearing till Nov 21.
