Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has filed an appeal against the Returning Officer's decision to reject his nomination papers for NA-122 Lahore and NA-89 Mianwali constituencies. The last day for appeals falls today, with a flurry of candidates hoping to secure their place in the upcoming general elections. Khan's legal team argues that the Returning Officer's decision was "contrary to the facts" and requests the Election Tribunal to annul it and approve his nomination papers. This adds to the growing list of challenges filed by various candidates across the country facing similar decisions. Among the notable challengers is former Chief Minister Pervez Elahi, whose papers were also rejected. With time running out, candidates have until 4 PM today to submit their appeals, aiming for a final verdict from the judges by January 10th.
