As the general elections, scheduled to be held on February 8, 2024, are approaching so is the crackdown on the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders, especially those who have filed their nomination papers, is intensifying. In a latest instance, the party’s ex-MPA from Arifwala Chaudhry Naeem Ibrahim was taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) when he arrived at the Multan International Airport from Sharjah on Tuesday morning. Quoting his spokesman, sources told 24News TV channel that the former MPA was arrested despite the fact that a court had granted him bail until December 27. The spokesman further said that Naeem Ibrahim had filed his nomination papers from both the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly constituencies.
