Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers on Wednesday attacked an anti-corruption team in Gujrat, got freed detained Member National Assembly (MNA) Haji Imtiaz Ahmed and fled. According to a spokesperson of the Anti-Corruption Department, MNA Haji Imtiaz Ahmed was arrested on charges of corruption of more than Rs10 million. The spokesperson said that the anti-corruption court Gujranwala circle had remanded the MNA into their custody. The anti-corruption team had taken Haji Imtiaz Ahmed to Mandi Bahauddin for investigation. On their return from Mandi Bahauddin, a group of PTI activists attacked the anti-corruption team at New Shadiwal Road. The supporters of the MNA fired shots at the vehicles and punctures tyres of their vehicles. The police have registered a case against the accused in Gujrat on charges of forcibly getting freed the accused legislator. Gujarat Police were conducting raids to arrest the accused and police pickets have been set up in the adjoining districts of Gujrat for this purpose.
