A brutal assault on a police van in the Machchka area of Sadiqabad resulted in the death of the primary suspect, Bashir Shar, and left two of his associates critically injured. The Punjab Police, responding to the attack, have pledged to bring all those involved to justice. Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, reported that dacoits Naseer and Gadi Kosh, alias Meena, were seriously wounded during the exchange of fire. Dr. Anwar condemned the "cowardly" actions of the attackers and reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to uphold security despite such challenges. The attack occurred during the night when bandits, using rocket launchers, targeted two police vehicles in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan. The assailants took advantage of the darkness, resulting in a devastating assault that led to the destruction of both vehicles and left the police trapped in water.

In the ensuing violence, 12 police personnel were martyred, six were injured, and five went missing but have since been rescued. In response, Rahim Yar Khan police have been deployed heavily in the area. The Punjab Police's top leadership, including IG Dr. Usman Anwar, plans to visit the site of the incident, the affected police camps in Kacha Machchka, and attend the funeral prayers for the fallen officers. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the attack and honored the sacrifice of the martyred policemen. The operation against the dacoits will continue with full force, and the police remain resolute in their mission to secure the region. Dr. Anwar emphasized that the attack would not deter the police's resolve, asserting that the blood of the fallen heroes would not be in vain. The police operation will persist to restore peace and ensure justice for the victims of this heinous act.
