President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday commended the Pakistan Navy for successfully rescuing 19 fishermen stranded in the northern Arabian Sea. The rescue operation was carried out by the Pakistan Navy ship PNS Taimur.In their separate statements, they said the successful rescue operation reflected the Pakistan Navy's unwavering commitment and constant readiness to protect human lives at sea.
President Asif Ali Zardari underscored that the protection of human lives at sea demonstrated the Pakistan Navy's strong commitment to fulfilling its national and international responsibilities. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy involved in the operation for safely rescuing all 19 members aboard the fishing vessel, including 11 Pakistani and 8 Iranian nationals.
"The Pakistan Navy personnel provided the stranded crew with food, drinking water, and medical assistance at sea, which is a practical demonstration of our armed forces' humanitarian values and professional excellence," the prime minister added.
