The recent argumentation between the PML-N and the PPP leaders has forced the latter to inform Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of their reservations. PPP leaders would meet with the prime minister on his return to the country from the UK and tell him about the PML-N leaders’, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, rant against the PPP leadership, especially their criticism of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). 

PM Shehbaz, they added, would be told that the Sindh government’s request for aid for the flood-affected areas was from the federal government, and not the Punjab government. Sources went on to say that the PPP leaders would convey to the prime minister that he would have to give a shut-up call to the Punjab chief minister and her ministers; otherwise, the PPP would convene the party’s central executive committee meeting to decide about the future course of action.
