Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that the Population Day reminds us of the responsibility of making collective efforts for welfare, betterment and uplift of masses. In his message on World Population Day, he said that large population can indeed be a blessing in disguise. He said that through training and skills development, the population bulge, the 60% of which was youth, can be transformed into a valuable asset for the nation. Yousaf Raza Gilani said that population dividend and valuable human resource to support and fuel national development and progress. To provide necessary facilities and services to the masses, the population should be managed in proportion to available resources, he pointed out. The Chairman Senate urged all stakeholders to play a proactive role in maximising the potential of the population, ensuring that it becomes an invaluable asset to the nation.
