Police seize drugs; KP Police Chief to hold online public hearingBreaking

The police on Friday foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics, arresting a suspect and recovered hashish 21 kilograms during an operation in the district.According to police officials, the operation was carried out by Saddar Police Station after the police intercepted a suspicious vehicle at a highway check post.

The action was taken as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug traffickers under the directives of District Police Officer, Shehbaz Elahi.The police said a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of hashish 21 kilograms concealed in secret compartments. The suspect, identified as Shah Jehan, a resident of Karachi, was arrested at the scene, they added. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigations were under way, the officials said. 

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Inspector General Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed is scheduled to hold an online Khuli Kachehri, a public hearing — aimed at addressing citizens’ complaints. The police said residents of Kohat would be able to present their grievances directly to the provincial police chief through a Zoom session at the District Police Officer’s office.The citizens might also submit complaints via the toll-free number 091-9223576 or WhatsApp at 0346-1117632, they added.
