The meeting was attended by members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, senators, and party leaders from across the country. Ayub said that after a long time, the PTI party meeting is being held here again. He said that the party leaders and workers had endured lots of hardships to reach this point. Quoting the former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan, Ayub said that he had urged the workers not to lose their heart until the last ball. Thousands of people took to the streets on May 9, 2023 immediately after they learnt about the arrest of their leader Imran Khan by the Rangers personnel. They resorted to vandalism and set several government and military buildings on fire to register their protest.
