The district police in collaboration with security forces conducted a search and strike operation in Kohat city on Thursday and recovered a huge quantity of drugs and illegal arms. According to media reports, The operation was supported by the Pak Army and was carried out under the direct supervision of SP Zahid Khan, DSP Yusuf Jan and SHO Muhammad Riaz Shaheed. The police recovered five kilograms of hashish, 250 grams of heroin, 105 grams of ICE, five pistols, one repeater gun and 28 cartridges of different bores. A proclaimed offender Wasim, who was involved in a murder case, was also arrested along with an accomplice. Separate cases have been registered against the arrested accused at Muhammad Riaz Shaheed police station. The police said that the operation was part of their ongoing efforts to curb the drug and arms trafficking in the city. They warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in such activities.
