Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police and Rawalpindi police have launched joint grand combing and search operations in different areas of the twin cities to take action against criminals and suspicious elements and ensure the safety of citizens.An official told on Monday that the operations were being conducted on the directions of IGP Sohail Islamabad Capt (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry as part of efforts to maintain law and order and protect the lives and property of citizens.
The official said Islamabad Police patrol units and special squads remained active across the Federal capital, while checking was being carried out on major roads, entry and exit points and sensitive locations. During the search operations, police checked suspicious persons, vehicles, and motorcycles, while taking legal action against criminal and law-breaking elements. The official said Islamabad Police were using all available resources to maintain peace and ensure citizens' security.
Citizens were requested to cooperate with police during checking and the verification of identity documents and other records. Police also urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious person, vehicle or activity in their surroundings. The official said Islamabad Police, with the cooperation of citizens, remained committed to making the federal capital safer.
