Police in Karachi’s PIB Colony have arrested a target killer belonging to a banned organization, reported on Saturday. According to the police, weapons were also recovered from the possession of the suspect. They told that Maqsood Pathan, son of Abdul Kareem, was wanted in criminal cases of serious nature. Giving further details, the police said that for the first time the suspect had been arrested in 2005 in connection with the murder of MQM-P activist Asif. Later, they informed, he was taken into custody in Rawalpindi in 2014 in connection with cases of terrorism registered against him by the CTD. In 2017, Pathan plotted to kill a builder in connivance with three other people, but failed as later during an encounter with the people, his accomplice Shahid Laddu was killed while he was arrested in an injured condition. The Force explained that the suspect had also been declared a proclaimed offender by a court. Pathan also planned to commit robbery at an office near Nazimabad, the police elaborated.
