Police has arrested a two-member gang involved in cheating handouts of Benazir Income Support Programme from beneficiaries. “A police team headed by SHO Faisal Town nabbed two accused, Anwar and Javed, from Kasur involved in taking unfair advantage of trusting people at ATMs of various banks,” SP Model Town Shahar Bano Naqvi said.
“With some pretext they used to withdraw money from their victims’ ATM cards and fled from the scene,” police officer further said. “In the pretext of helping the BISP beneficiaries in withdrawal of their amount, accused were grabbing their money,” SP said. Police recovered three ATM cards, two pistols and cash from their possession, official added.
