Police in Lahore on Tuesday arrested two suspects who threatened traffic wardens and journalists by claiming to be relatives of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The suspects also asked a young girl who was driving a car without a number plate to be released from police custody. A video of the incident went viral, showing the suspects threatening and influencing top police officers at the scene. The incident was widely criticized on social media. CTO Lahore Mustansar Feroze took strict notice of the incident and ordered the police to take action against the suspects. Police have identified the suspects as Yasin and his accomplice.
Yasin used the name of the Chief Minister to pressure the police and release the young girl. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi took immediate notice of the incident and ordered the police to take action against the suspects. Police traced and arrested the suspects and started further action. According to the FIR, the incident took place between Liberty Market and Hussain Chowk on November 22. A case was registered on November 26.
