Chairman of Kisan Ittehad, Khalid Hussain Bath has said that the decision announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to transform Balochistan’s agriculture tube wells on solar panels is commendable. While addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Wednesday, he said that converting of tube wells to solar energy will open new venue of development and prosperity in the province. Khalid Hussain Bath said, “Balochistan has fertile land and making agricultural lands cultivable can increase the country’s resources. The province has around 40,000 tube wells, and an additional 16,000 tube wells should also be converted to solar energy.”
The Chairman Kisan Ittehad expressed special thanks to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and the Prime Minister of Pakistan for their orders to convert thousands of tube wells to solar power. He requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Balochistan to take measures to promote tourism in the province, ensuring the security of tourist areas to increase the province’s resources. Khalid Hussain noted that last year’s heavy rains caused significant damage to farmers, and stressed the need that the government should immediately compensate for their losses. He also called for taking precautionary measures to deal with the upcoming rains in order to minimize the losses to landowners.
