PM Shehbaz orders NDMA to ensure maximum relief for flood-hit massesBreaking

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to utilize all available resources to provide maximum assistance and relief to the people affected by floods across the country. PM Shehbaz Sharif issued these directives during a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik in Islamabad on Saturday, who briefed him on the prevailing weather situation in the country, particularly the flood situation arising from monsoon rains, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

Shehbaz Sharif also directed the NDMA to maintain effective coordination with the relevant provincial authorities and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs). He also appreciated the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology at the National Emergencies Operations Centre. The NDMA chairman briefed the prime minister on the weather and flood situation with regard to monsoon season.

He also apprised him on the ongoing relief operations in flood-affected areas and measures being taken for the rehabilitation of affected people. The NDMA chief said that with the cooperation of the federal government, the Authority would continue relief operations in flood-affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
