Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt greetings to President Xi Jinping, the brotherly people of China, and to Chinese communities around the world on the advent of Chinese New Year 2026 -the Year of the Horse. In a post on his X handle on Monday, the Prime Minister said the Horse symbolizes energy, resilience, speed and values that resonate deeply with our shared journey. 

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and China are iron brothers, bound by an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and a shared vision of peace, development and regional connectivity. The Prime Minister prayed that may this New Year further strengthen our enduring friendship and deepen our cooperation for the prosperity of our two peoples. He said the entire Pakistani nation joins him in wishing Chinese brothers and sisters continued good health, success and forward momentum in the Year of the Horse.
