Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) Apex Committee meeting at the Prime Minister House on Thursday. Federal ministers, chief ministers, and military officials participated in the meeting. Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Rana Tanveer, Khawaja Asif, and Aleem Khan were also among the attendees. Participants were briefed on development projects, investment opportunities, and newly discovered oil and gas reserves under the SIFC framework.
Updates on investments by friendly countries and the facilities extended to them in Pakistan were also shared. In a related development, the Prime Minister has scheduled a second Apex Committee meeting on Friday to discuss the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP). This meeting will address the security situation and is expected to finalise critical decisions regarding the plan's execution, sources stated.
