Pindi admin takes stringent measures against violations of anti-dengue SOPsBreaking

In an earnest effort to combat the menace of dengue, the Rawalpindi Administration has taken stringent measures against violations of anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in various areas of the district, resulting in the registration of approximately 290 First Information Reports (FIRs) since the beginning of this year. Providing comprehensive insights into the punitive actions taken, Dr. Ansar Ishaq, Director Health Rawalpindi, informed that the district administration, in close collaboration with allied departments, has proactively sealed 108 premises, issued 215 Challans, and served notices to 1,106 individuals found in violation of dengue SOPs in 2023. These measures have resulted in imposing fines amounting to Rs 317,600.

 On the subject of confirmed dengue cases, Dr. Ansar highlighted that the district had reported 21 cases this year, compared to 13 in 2022 and two in 2021 during the corresponding periods. Notably, the cases were distributed across different regions, with four each from Rawalpindi Cantonment, Chaklala Cantonment, and Municipal Corporation areas, two from Potohar town urban area, and one each from Potohar rural, Gujjar Khan, and Kotli Sattian.
