First time in country’s history, a grounded Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 737 plane was being shifted from Karachi to Civil Aviation Institute in Hyderabad via road. Malik Humayun Khalid, director of a private transport company said that the grounded plane is being shifted on 74-wheeler trawler. The length of the aircraft is 110 feet while its weight is 40 tons. Deputy Director Logistics Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Munir Alam said that the plane will be parked at Civil Aviation Institute of Hyderabad and will be used for providing training to under-training students. A team of experts from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also accompanied the transport company during the process of shifting.
