A joint team of Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) and Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has completed its visit to Parachinar for reactivating the local airport. According to PAA, the visit was made to review the possibilities and possible measures for the restoration of commercial and relief flights at Parachinar Airport.  The Joint Board of Officers conducted a detailed review of the airport’s infrastructure, technical aspects and facilities. 

On the directions of the Ministry of Defence, an eight-member committee consisting of PAA and PIA members was formed. The joint committee that visited Parachinar Airport consists of six members of the Airports Authority and two members of PIA. The joint committee visited Parachinar Airport for a feasibility study of airport operationalization.
