PFA seizes 350kg dead chickenBreaking

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday foiled an attempt to supply a quantity of dead chicken to local eateries by seizing 350 kilograms of dead chickens during a special operation ahead of Eidul Azha.According to a news release issued by PFA office, the enforcement team conducted a raid at a checkpoint set up in the 74-SB area of Sargodha tehsil where they intercepted a rickshaw loaded with the dead chicken. The dead poultry was intended to supply to various hotels and restaurants across the city.

A veterinary doctor present at the site examined the stock and officially declared it hazardous for human consumption, leading to the immediate disposal of the unhygienic meat on the spot.Following the recovery, local police took the accused persons into custody and registered a case against them for endangering public health.The PFA urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any complaints regarding food quality or the sale of unhygienic meat by contacting the PFA helpline at 1233.
