The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams inspected 79 food points across the district to ensure compliance with food safety laws and hygiene standards.According to an official source, the teams imposed a total fine of Rs163,000 on 16 food points for violating food safety regulations, while improvement notices were issued to 33 others. An Emergency Prohibition Order (EPO) was also issued against one food point. During the inspections, 6.4 kilograms of expired food items were discarded on the spot.The PFA teams directed food business operators to maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene and ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards.
