The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 51 food outlets across the district to check compliance with food safety laws,here on Friday.According to official sources,the inspections were conducted on the directions of PFA Deputy Director(DD),Sadia Rafat. The teams issued improvement notices to 19 food businesses and imposed a total fine of Rs.74,000 on four food outlets for violations.
The teams also collected five food samples for laboratory testing and disposed of 1kgs of banned food items.The PFA said inspections and enforcement actions would continue regularly to ensure the supply of safe and quality food to the public.
