The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Gujrat on Saturday,under the supervision of Deputy Director Rizwan Saeed, conducted 65 inspections of food outlets across the district. According to PFA spokesperson,during the inspections, 25 improvement notices were issued to food business operators,while fines amounting to Rs. 113,000 were imposed in seven cases for violations of food safety laws.
The teams also collected five food samples for laboratory testing and disposed of 35.1 kilograms of expired, prohibited and substandard food items. Action was taken to safeguard public health and ensure the provision of safe and quality food, adding that strict enforcement against violators would continue,PFA spokesperson added.
