The recent increase in petroleum product prices has been challenged in the Lahore High Court. A miscellaneous petition was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel, arguing that petrol prices were raised by Rs26.77 per litre overnight. The petition contended that the increase in petroleum prices would lead to a rise in inflation across the country. It requested the court to declare the hike in petroleum prices null and void.
