An astonishing increase in flour prices has been witnessed in the provincial capital Peshawar due to closure of supply from Punjab. The flour prices continue to increase with each passing day and administration fails to control the prices. During recent days, an increase of one thousand rupees has been witnessed in 80 kg flour bag while 20 kg flour bag notified an increase of Rs400. With recent increase, the price of 80 kg flour has climbed to Rs85000 from Rs7500. The flour dealers have termed closure of supply from Punjab and hoarding as major reason of hike in flour prices. The nanbais of Peshawar were also planning to increase the roti price after increase in flour prices.
