A man was injured in an explosion near Malir Cantonment in Karachi after reportedly picking up a pen bomb. According to police sources, the injured individual was identified as Abdul Samie, son of Nasir. Sources said the blast occurred when the explosive device was allegedly handled, resulting in injuries to the civilian.

Following the incident, Abdul Samie was transferred to Patel Hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal at around 7pm for medical treatment.  Hospital sources said he was admitted to Ward 4, where he remains under care. Police sources confirmed that the injured man is a resident of New Karachi. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the device and the circumstances that led to the explosion.
