Pakistani embassy honours Turkey earthquake victims with commemoration ceremonyBreaking

On the anniversary of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, a commemoration ceremony took place at the Pakistani Embassy in Ankara. February 6, 2023, marked the day when Turkey was rocked by catastrophic earthquakes, causing widespread destruction. The seismic events left a staggering impact, affecting 14 million people across the region. To mark the occasion of the first anniversary of these tragic earthquakes, the Pakistani Embassy in Ankara orchestrated a dignified commemoration ceremony. Among the distinguished attendees were Hamza Tasdelen, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Disaster Management Authority (AFAD); Derian Yank, Chairperson of the Turkish Human Rights Commission; Bekir Y?lmaz, Deputy Governor of Ankara; and General (Retired) Güray Alpar, President of the Institute of Strategic Thinking. Also, present were members of the media, along with representatives from Pakistan and Turkish civil society. In a tribute to the earthquake victims, participants extended their deepest condolences to the bereaved families. The ceremony underscored the commendable collaboration between AFAD and NDMA in delivering crucial assistance to the affected populace. In remembrance of those who lost their lives, a symbolic tree-planting ceremony was held, followed by a moment of silence.
