Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain has stated that Pakistan will continue to support Turkiye in rescue and relief efforts following the deadly earthquake there. He was talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Friday, on the occasion of return of Pakistan's rescue team from Turkiye that was there since day one of the disaster. The Minister said Pakistan's rescue teams have always played a valuable role during calamitous times not only within the country but also when our friendly countries were in need.
He said keeping in view the intensity of damage caused by earthquake, we have apportioned 75 percent of our rescue aid for Turkiye while 25 percent for Syria. Speaking on the occasion, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Mehmet Paçaci lauded the role of Pakistani rescue teams in rescuing people in earthquake-hit areas.
He said Pakistan is the country which sent its rescue teams to Turkiye immediately after the disaster and these teams did a valuable job there. The Turkish ambassador said this natural calamity has once again proved that people of Pakistan and Turkiye stand together in every hour of difficulty and their hearts beat together.
