Federal Minister for Commerce, Industry, and Investment, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, stated that the government is directing its attention towards 20,000 small businesses. Addressing a gathering at the US-Aid Investment Summit, he mentioned that if each of the 20,000 small businesses can generate one million dollars in revenue, it could eliminate trade deficits, with the goal achievable within a year. The Commerce Minister highlighted that various initiatives have been taken to concentrate on small and medium-sized businesses, indicating a strategic approach to uplift this sector. Dr. Gohar Ejaz emphasized that the current trade deficit is $20 billion, and the government is keen on focusing on 20,000 small-scale entrepreneurs to increase revenues and contribute to a positive balance of trade The minister stated that the Ministry of Commerce has organized visits for small and medium-sized business owners to Egypt, China, and GCC countries to explore new markets. These efforts have already shown successful results in expanding trade opportunities.
