Pakistan has witnessed a remarkable surge in foreign direct investment (FDI) directly into the country, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan. According to the State Bank's data, in December 2023, the country experienced a historic 640% increase in foreign direct investment compared to December 2022, reaching a total of $21 billion. This significant rise in FDI is attributed to the current account surplus and unprecedented IT-related earnings. In the first six months of the ongoing fiscal year, foreign direct investment escalated by 35%, reaching a staggering $86 billion. This surge in foreign investment is seen as a positive sign for Pakistan's economic landscape, reflecting growing confidence among international investors and a favorable business environment.
