Pakistan, Gulf states to press ahead with joint operations against drugsتازترین

Heads of delegations which took part in Pak-GCC Anti-Narcotics Conference met with Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi and discussed a variety of issues in Islamabad on Friday. The delegation included UAE DG Anti-Narcotics Department Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al-Sawaidi, Qatar DG Narcotics Department Colonel Rashid Sari, Saudi Arabia DG Narcotics Department Major General Saad bin Saud Al-Ajmi, Oman Police DG Narcotics Brigadier Muhammad Saleh Ali Rashid, Bahrain Director Anti-Narcotics Department Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Khalid, Kuwait Director Operations Colonel Nasir Badr and GCC, CICCD Director Brigadier Isa Saeed. 

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha and Director General Anti-Narcotics Force Major General Abdul Moeed were also present on the occasion.  Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the delegations of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman for participating in the Pak-GCC Conference. Director General Anti-Narcotics Force Major General Abdul Moeed informed about the recommendations of the Pak-GCC conference.

Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the delegates of ANF Pakistan and Gulf Cooperation Council on the successful conference and appreciated their full cooperation. All delegates reiterated their full cooperation with the Government of Pakistan in the fight against drugs. It was decided in the meeting to hold a meeting of Pak-GCC Narcotics Ministers by the end of this year for the fight against drugs.

Mohsin Naqvi said major decisions will be taken at the same forum with the GCC Ministers to combat drugs by the end of this year.  Mohsin Naqvi said recommendations regarding counter-narcotics will further strengthen mutual cooperation.  It will help in formulating an effective strategy in the light of mutual suggestions, Mohsin Naqvi said. Together, we can eradicate the scourge of drugs from the society, Mohsin Naqvi added. He said all GCC countries are very respectable to us.  He further said that we have made the anti-narcotics agency more effective and strong.
