President of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance Malik Shahzad Awan called on Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi. The Governor asked the transporters to support government in its difficult decisions. He said that national interest is paramount and the transport sector should cooperate with the government. They also held a detailed discussion on petroleum prices, toll taxes, withholding taxes and other issues.

Malik Shahzad Awan said that transporters continue to provide services despite incurring losses during wartime-like conditions. He requested relief on toll and withholding taxes and for the implementation of December agreement. The Sindh Governor assured that transporters' issues will be raised with the Federal government.He said that every possible effort will be made to resolve the transport sector's issues. Malik Shahzad Awan expressed gratitude to the Sindh Governor for listening to the issues and assuring their resolution.
