Pakistan extends airspace ban on Indian planes until January 23Breaking

December 17, 2025

Pakistan has announced an extension of its airspace closure to Indian-registered aircraft for another month, continuing a suspension that has been in place since April 23, 2025. The decision, effective until January 23, 2026, was communicated through a new NOTAM issued by the Pakistan Airport Authority with government approval. Under the current restrictions, all Indian passenger, military, and private jets remain barred from traversing Pakistani airspace.

Officials said the extension is part of ongoing measures reflecting security and regulatory considerations. The suspension has affected commercial aviation and regional flight routes, prompting airlines to adjust schedules and reroute flights to avoid Pakistan’s airspace.  The Pakistan Airport Authority continues to monitor the situation and update airlines as necessary.
