Pakistan Embassy in Washington marks first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq victoryBreaking

A grand ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington to mark one year of the historic victory of Marka-e-Haq, where members of the Pakistani community participated in large numbers.The event began in connection with the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, with a strong presence of Pakistani and American community members. Enthusiastic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “We are Bunyan-un-Marsoos” echoed throughout the gathering, renewing patriotic spirit.

Tribute was paid to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism and role in defending the homeland, with the Army, Air Force and Navy described as an “iron wall” that made the country’s defence impregnable against the enemy.Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out during the ceremony, while video messages from the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister and the Defence Minister were also broadcast, highlighting national unity and resolve.

The message of Chief of Defence Forces General Syed Asim Munir was conveyed to participants by Defence Attaché Brigadier Irfan Ali.Addressing the ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said that during Marka-e-Haq, Pakistan demonstrated its strategic importance, national dignity and defence capabilities. He said Pakistan is a key and sensitive country in the region where peace and stability hold global importance. 

The ambassador said that in line with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision, Pakistan is emerging as a global centre of influence. He added that Pakistan was created for the protection of Muslim dignity and honour, and no compromise would be made on this principle. He expressed concern over the treatment of Muslims in India, saying it further validates the decision of the creation of Pakistan.

He noted that Pakistan has played an important role in promoting peace and positive diplomacy globally over the past eight decades and highlighted Pakistan’s peace efforts in the Iran-US tensions. He also thanked former US President Donald Trump for his efforts regarding ceasefire initiatives, stating that the 88-hour-long Marka-e-Haq events had reignited the spirit of Pakistani identity worldwide. In conclusion, he stressed that unity is essential for national progress and stability, while a poem by renowned poet Majid Amjad was also recited at the event.
