Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with IMF Director for Middle East and Central Asia Jihad Azour in Washington DC. During the meeting, the Finance Minister thanked the IMF for reaching a Staff-Level Agreement on the first review under Pakistan’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and a new arrangement under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
The Finance Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to stay the course and further entrench the progress achieved over the past one and a half years. He said Fitch’s upgrade of Pakistan’s sovereign credit ratings was an external validation of the successful reforms undertaken by the country.
