Pak Suzuki motors sales plummet 51% in first five monthsBreaking

December 13, 2023

The Pakistani automotive industry continues to face challenges, with Pak Suzuki Motors Company experiencing a significant 51% decline in car sales during the first five months of the current fiscal year (July-November 2023). According to data released by the All Pakistan Auto Manufacturers Association (APAMA), Pak Suzuki sold only 18,262 units during this period, compared to 37,029 units sold in the same period last year. This dramatic decline highlights the ongoing slump in the Pakistani car market, attributed to various factors including economic instability, rising inflation, and increased interest rates. These factors have significantly impacted consumer purchasing power, leading to lower demand for new vehicles. In November alone, Pak Suzuki's sales dropped by 8% compared to October, with only 3,506 units sold. This further underscores the challenging market conditions impacting the company.

Breaking down the sales figures by model, Suzuki Alto remains the company's best-selling car, with 11,306 units sold in the first five months. However, even Alto's sales declined significantly compared to the previous year. Other popular models, including Swift, Cultus, WagonR, Bolan, and Ravi, also experienced substantial drops in sales. The current situation paints a bleak picture for Pak Suzuki and the broader Pakistani automotive industry. With no immediate signs of economic improvement, it is unclear when the market will recover and sales will return to pre-pandemic levels. The company will need to adopt innovative strategies and adapt to the changing market landscape in order to survive and thrive in the long run.
