Pak-Qatar culture ministers discuss bilateral relations, cultural issuesBreaking

Caretaker Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah called on Qatari Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrehman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani on the margins of the 12th Conference of the Culture Ministers of Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) of OIC held in Doha, Qatar. During the meeting, the interim minister and his Qatari counterpart discussed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and cultural issues of mutual interest. Speaking on the occasion, Jamal Shah underscored that Pakistan attached importance to its longstanding and brotherly ties with Qatar that were based on common interests and shared values.

 The two Culture Ministers stressed the need to further strengthen cultural ties between Pakistan and Qatar. They emphasized the importance of advancing negotiations on the proposed Pakistan and Qatar cultural exchanges. The federal minister also interacted with media along with Qatari Counterpart. In his speech during two-day conference, Jamal Shah focused on helping Palestine and Kashmir. It was stressed that in order to help their cause and struggle, ICESCO should create special opportunities for their craftsmen, musicians, writers and film makers where they can showcase their works with Islamic countries & rest of the world to represent aspirations of their people.

 The interim minister also met with DG ICESCO and Culture Minister of Palestine and focused on cultural exchanges & strengthening relations. Jamal Shah also met with Iranian and Somalian Counterparts and discussed areas of cooperation and the need for increasing cultural exchanges and strengthening relations. The Caretaker Federal Minister of National Heritage and Culture of Pakistan participated in 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic world on 25-26 September held in Doha.
